Breakthrough provides a 30-day residential addiction program combining medically assisted detox, individual therapy, meals and daily activities. Extended residence is available as a separate arrangement.
The separate seven-day detox program includes medically assisted withdrawal support, airport transportation, room and board for seven nights, four IV-drip sessions, physician visits and daily therapy.
Detox is individualized and includes nutritional and emotional support, vitamin and IV services and assistance with sleep. A physician is on call around the clock; this does not imply continuous onsite physician staffing.
Daily individual therapy is complemented by wellness activities selected for individual preferences. The approach is not specifically a 12-step program, although local and virtual groups are available.
The in-town residence has five bedrooms with private rooms. Full in-unit kitchens allow guests to prepare meals and snacks.
Meals use fresh local ingredients and menus are adjusted to personal preferences and dietary needs.
A nearby villa provides access to a large swimming pool and sweat lodge. These facilities are separate from the practical in-town residence.
Activities include yoga, meditation, massage, art-based sessions, beach trips, horseback riding, fishing and excursions to mountains, lakes or nearby towns.
ATV activities and additional classes or tours may be available according to interest. Some extra activities have an additional fee.
Individual sessions are delivered by the therapy team, with staff available on call day and night. Medical support for detox is provided through physician visits and a physician on-call arrangement.
Staff communicate in English and Spanish. Treatment and activities are tailored to the individual rather than a fixed group itinerary.
The seven-day medically assisted detox package costs US$3,000. The 30-day residential package costs US$8,000 and includes detox services, 30 nights of accommodation and meals, individualized menus, daily professional therapy and daily activities.
Additional classes, activities or tours may incur extra charges. Extended residence is priced separately according to the stay arrangement.
The center is in the town of Tomatlán, Mexico. The Costalegre beaches are approximately a half-hour drive away.
Transport is provided from Puerto Vallarta International Airport, approximately two hours from the center by road.
